NMC Revalidation

Under the guidelines set by the NMC, nurses and midwives and in England Nursing Associates must revalidate every three years on the date they are due to apply for the renewal of their registration. In order to ensure the successful renewal of your licence, Nursing Revalidation will appoint a confirmer (If required) and a dedicated team to oversee your application for NMC Revalidation.

Key information before revalidating

Here is some key information before you begin the process:

  • You must be able to provide evidence of at least 450 practice hours.
  • You must be able to provide 5 pieces of practice related feedback obtained over the three years prior to your revalidation date.
  • When submitting your application, you will be asked to complete a health and character declaration to satisfy the registrar as well as demonstrating that you can provide a safe and effective practice.
  • You will be required to participate in a reflective discussion via a video link with our registered NMC professional.
  • You must be able to provide evidence of 35 completed CPD hours, with 20 hours being participatory learning which is relevant to your practice.
  • When submitting your application, you will be required to declare that you are covered by the appropriate indemnity insurance.
  • You must have an online account with the NMC to be able to submit your application online.
